Caught in the Act of Evolution

I loved dinosaurs as a kid (and even today, I still am a sucker for a good dinosaur exhibit or book). I think it’s interesting that they’re recently finding out that most of these dinosaurs are actually feathered. Even the T-Rex got that memo, which sucks because now he doesn’t look so tough with feathers fanning out of his neck and face like a feather boa. I didn’t paint this with anything in mind (it was actually a wedding present), but I totally see a dinosaur caught in the act of evolution–on its way to becoming a bird–and in my mind it looks something like this Archaeopteryx:
