METASTASIS OF MEDULLOBLASTOMA
Acrylic on 4 canvases, 41″ x 41″
This painting intends to visually render the many pathways of medulloblastoma metastasis. Current efforts are being explored to decipher genes that are able to drive metastasis and discover their biological role in hopes of finding new avenues of therapy.
Since human samples of metastasis are rare and poorly annotated, the next best option is to explore forward genetic screens in animal models of metastasis. Through sequencing and statistical analysis of insertion sites in tumors and single cells, underlying driver genes and pathways can be identified.
